Development Overview

Ainsley Gommon was initially appointed to carry out a Masterplan for the former oleochemical site. The approved Masterplan addresses various complex site constraints and proposes zoning of the site to create a balanced mixed use development that is predominantly light industrial and offices, but also supports the adjacent residential Conservation Area of Bromborough Pool Village.

Following the successful completion of their new office and factory, Capital Reinforcing again approached Ainsley Gommon to design a Heavy Goods Vehicle depot and store, to accommodate their expanding fleet of vehicles and their steel business. This scheme also includes a maintenance and repair building for the vehicles.

The new building will not only enable Capital Reinforcing to maintain their own fleet vehicles but also to expand the transport division of the company enabling them to become a certified DVSA HGV testing station. The company continues to plan for further expansion and with the availability of adjacent land, associated with the wider Masterplan area this will enable the company to plan for growth and continue to increase their production.

The depot consists of a 933m2 HGV store for the general maintenance of vehicles and storage of any necessary parts and testing equipment, along with a 289m2 service depot with a full service pit allowing full access to the underside of the vehicles for testing as well as welfare facilities for the staff. The remaining areas of the site will be used as a HGV washing facility, with integrated grey water recycling, HGV parking and material storage.
