Elleray Park School, Wirral

Ainsley Gommon had been involved with this project for two previous phases which has seen the extensive reordering of the existing building to convert it back into a school and to reorder the classrooms to meet the new user and the specialist needs that a SEN school requires. Phase two of the works was completed in February 2022 and the third and final phase was completed for the start of term in September 2022.

The third phase included;

• Converting 5 smaller classrooms into 3 larger classrooms fitted with new teaching walls
• Installing new toilets
• Installing a new hygiene room/ sluice
• Creating a new office space

This phase has seen the completion of the reordering of the school which has been fully modernised to a high standard and which now functions better to suit the needs of each of the user groups.

The Wirral has a growing need for SEN school placements and Ainsley Gommon have worked closely with the Wirral Borough Council and the contractors in order to meet the tight deadline to ensures works were completed before the start of the new term to provide little disruption to the running of the school and ensure the safety of the children.

Obtaining Planning and Building Control approvals has formed parts of our works for the scheme on behalf of WBC and also acted as Principal Designer. Our working drawing package was used by the contractors and subcontractors on site and the excellent dialogue and communication between the design team enabled the successful completion date.
