Development Overview

Ainsley Gommon were appointed to develop a campus masterplan for the Aquinas Sixth Form College in Stockport in 2001. The accommodation strategy incorporated new classrooms, social facilities, laboratories, art and CDT, IT suites and reuse and remodelling of existing college buildings.

Phase 1 of the development was undertaken in 2002 and involved the reuse and conversion of existing gymnasium and dining hall to provide new art and CDT studion, IT rooms, workshops, exhibition space and laboratories.

A feasibility study was completed for Phases 2-4, which identified future classroom provision, disabled access issues, security and parking difficulties.
