Development Overview
The project brief for 52 Caldy Road was to create three apartments, extending the existing house. The site is surrounded by sandstone walls with established trees either side of the site entrance which are retained in the development.
To help the building sit comfortably in its context, the materials used have taken reference from local architecture. High quality materials are used such as a red multi brick, stone window surrounds and white render, similar to other recent developments in the area.
The crown roof has been designed to be pitched to all sides the reduce the height appearance and stay in keeping with the surrounding residential dwellings.
The existing house is a large single dwelling so conversion will create three individual apartments to help provide much needed housing in the area.
All apartments are easily accessible, with direct lift access to the first and second floor. The ground floor apartment has direct access from the parking court.
Bin storage is proposed to the rear of the property with two parking spaces provided per dwelling.
