Development Overview

The development at Felin Uchaf makes use of a Brownfield site (formerly a redundant depot) to provide much needed affordable housing for local people living in Dolgellau with particular needs. The scheme includes a group home for three clients and a resident carer, a wheelchair accessible bungalow and two bungalows for older people. The group home and wheelchair bungalow have a connecting car port to provide shelter for wheelchair users when alighting. The needs of the occupants are paramount in designing for people with particular needs, to provide places that are attractive and non institutional.

The site is adjacent to a small river on the edge of the rural town of Dolgellau in the Snowdonia National Park and the development uses traditional materials of Welsh slate, local stone and white render appropriate to this location.
