New Housing at The Street, Four Crosses/Llandysilio, Powys Handed Over for Barcud Cyf.
New development of 24 affordable homes on a green field site located on the north western edge of the village, close to the border with Shropshire. The housing mix comprises 8 × 1 bed, 6 × 2 bed, 4 × 3 bed, 4 × 4 Bed Houses and 2 × 2 bed Bungalows built using facing brick and MMC Timber Frame construction with a fabric first energy approach to meet WG Part L 2025 future proofing over and above the current AD Part ‘L’ requirements. All dwellings achieved a SAP 92/EPC ‘A’ rating.
The highly sustainable scheme supported with a housing grant from Welsh Government, without using onsite gas/fossil fuel supply, the homes will have all electric systems embracing enhanced energy, heating, ventilation and drainage technology. Solar photovoltaic panels also generate zero carbon energy on site and batteries store for use for on-plot Electric Vehicle charging facilities with potential for two-way charging and integration with grid. This ‘low-carbon living’ all helping to provide lower energy bills for the tenants.
