Construction works are progressing well on this highly collaborative project at Canol Cae for Grŵp Cynefin and ClwydAlyn. The 41 new energy efficient and affordable family homes look over attractive green space with a small meandering stream into ClwydAlyn north and Grŵp Cynefin south. Providing 39 general needs and 2 assisted living homes for local people in Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd. The scheme will support the local economy and services. The new development sits in a prime location conveniently fenced from the A487, a major trunk road linking several coastal towns with views towards Eryri National Park.

The new homes comprise of a mixture of two and three-bed houses and one-bed apartments, a four-bed house, a two-bed bungalow, a six-bed assisted living and four-bed wheelchair bungalow assisted living. The dwellings are flexible, adaptable and meet the criteria for lifetime homes and those with supported living needs. A strong sense of place is created by the ‘village green’ with generous public space and permeability is created in the centre of the site.

The scheme is being built by Williams Homes (Bala) Ltd using offsite manufacturing methods (MMC), greener technologies and innovative designs. The homes are super energy efficient and benefit from ASHP’s, PV’s, MMC; using as many natural and sustainable materials as possible, sourcing materials from local manufacturers and suppliers, keeping carbon footprint low and positioned to maximise solar gain and natural daylight.
