We are delighted to share these construction photos explaining our new affordable development, of thirty-nine ‘low energy’ homes in the centre of Alway, Newport, which has been produced for Pobl. The project was successfully awarded Welsh Government Innovative Housing Programme (4) funding. A high quality, cohesive and sustainable community, the development provides a natural infill to the residential development of Alway, and is led by strong green infrastructure & placemaking ideologies. The highly sustainable scheme enables ‘low carbon living’, with combustion free homes that embrace cutting-edge energy and drainage technology. The ‘low energy’ homes are all electric with zero on-site combustion and a clear path to net zero carbon future. Solar photovoltaic panels and battery storage generates zero carbon energy for residents with on-plot EV facilities with potential for two-way charging and integration with grid.

The scheme is being built by J.G Hale Construction with Modern Methods of Construction, using Sevenoaks Modular panelised, pre-insulated timber frame construction. Works are progressing well on site with groundworks and drainage constructed for half the site with Spantherm pre insulated concrete ground floor system installed for a number of blocks.

The construction photographs can be compared to our 3D visuals below that were produced as part of the Planning Application.
