We are delighted to have reached completion of the refurbishment to Crown Buildings, Wrexham, a 1960’s poorly performing office block that has been completely transformed into a modern and energy efficient building comparable to many new builds.

Working with Read Construction and Wrexham County Borough Council, the works included over-cladding the existing facades and new double glazed windows and doors, with high levels of thermal insulation introduced to the walls and roof. These measures, combined with new mechanical and electrical systems and PV panels on the roof have helped improve the building’s Energy Performance Certificate from a ‘D’ rating to an ‘A’ rating.

Internally, the building has been completely remodelled and will provide a Wellbeing Hub on the ground floor with a range of accessible community facilities, including a café space, sensory room and Changing Places facilities. The upper floors provide office accommodation for social care staff helping to deliver children’s and adult’s services, as well as the Education and Early Intervention Departments.
