Our new primary school project in Bangor has been announced as the winner of the Digital Construction award at the 2021 Constructing Excellence in Wales awards on Friday. The project, which was delivered as a true BIM Level 2 scheme, has been recognised for its collaborative and inclusive approach to digital construction, with its focus on the production and sharing of accurate and meaningful data and the upskilling benefit to both the project team and the wider SME supply chain.

As Lead Consultant for the project, our team worked closely with the Client Gwynedd Council, Main Contractor Read Construction and the rest of the design consultants, with our role including assisting with the Employers Requirements documentation, leading the clash detection process, working closely with the Contractor’s BIM Manager from Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stage to assist with the exchange of information on the CDE (Common Data Environment), developing a workflow for efficient and seamless export and import of COBie data, enabling handover of a BIM Level 2 compliant data-rich Asset Information Model (AIM) on completion. Our Client, Gwynedd Council, were also awarded the Client of the Year award for their involvement, and the project had also been shortlisted in the Integration and Collaborative Working category. We are delighted that the team’s hard work has been recognised with this award win!
