Planning Approval has been granted for Ysgol Y Garnedd, a new £7.8 million primary school in Bangor for Gwynedd Council. The new area school provides 420 places for the children of the Penrhosgarnedd, Tal-y-bont and Llanygai catchment areas and will be built alongside the existing Ysgol Y Garnedd building, which will then close once construction is complete.

The new school has been designed as a modern, well-equipped facility providing fourteen classrooms, two ALN classrooms, a nursery, a Cylch Meithrin and a large hall, along with a number of other different teaching spaces, staff and administration areas.
