Mark and Sarah from the Hawarden Office joined Maria and Rachel J in our Birkenhead office on Tuesday for the annual external audit of our Environmental Management System / ISO 14001 accreditation. The successful audit, which was our yearly surveillance audit, forms part of our company commitment to sound environmental practice in the provision of our professional services and business management.

The practice was able to report positively on our environmental performance over the past year. As well as planning and designing our buildings in a sustainable manner, we also look to reduce any negative environmental impacts of our business activities. Our yearly environmental objectives look at our recycling rates, minimising waste production, using environmentally friendly products and improving our environmental performance. We record our Carbon Footprint data and actively aim to reduce this year on year where possible – for 2016 we are pleased to report a 6% reduction on our 2015 figures.

The team will now be undergoing additional training in the coming months to prepare for our re-certification audit next year, involving an upgrade of our Environmental Management System to reflect the changes to the ISO 14001:2015 standard.
