On Friday 29th April staff from the Merseyside and Wales offices visited Glasgow on their annual away day to raise design awareness.
The day began at The Lighthouse – Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture, with a trip up the tower for a view of the city, a look around the exhibitions and a visit to their Library of Sustainable Building Materials. Staff then moved on to a tour of the Glasgow School of Art’s recently opened Reid Building, which was designed by American Architect Steven Holl, across the road from Mackintosh’s famous art school, currently undergoing restoration following the fire in 2014. The day culminated with a visit to Zaha Hadid’s Riverside Museum of Transport, on the banks of the River Clyde.
