Eccleston Street, Prescot – Creative Reuse, Historic Building Refurbishment & Conversion

LABC Building Excellence Awards – Finalist for Best Change of Use of and Existing Building or Conversion NW Region

We are currently working together with Knowsley MBC on the reinstatement of a shop front in the Prescot Conservation Area through the Prescot Townscape Heritage Initiative, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and other partners.

We have worked together with the shop owner and Knowsley MBC to comprehensively repair the whole building in line with the agreed specification. A new handmade double fronted timber shopfront has been replicated using historical photographs made available together with the knowledge of victorian shop front detailing. In addition the upper floor sash windows have been replaced to meet the conservation officers strict requirements, and chimney stacks were replaced which had previously been removed from the roofs. The upper floors which had been vacant have now been converted into four one and two bedroomed flats.
