A development of 11 new homes on the site of a former Police Station in the village of Hawarden has been granted planning approval. The project is seen as an important gateway scheme into the village. Working with the developer F G Whitley and Sons Ltd, the two storey brick and render homes have been designed to complement Hawarden’s local vernacular of traditional stone cottages and red brick terraces.
The sustainable dwellings will be built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 and have been designed to respond to their key location within the village setting and the relationship with The Highway, the main thoroughfare through the Village.
The housing scheme will expand the housing options available in the local area and was developed following close consultation with the local planning, conservation and highways departments.
