Development Overview

The project at 244 Allerton Road includes the demolition of an existing property to replace with two new 5 bedroom detached houses. The two new houses each have their own driveway in the new boundary with large gardens to the rear.

Located in the a suburban area of Allerton, the proposals are designed to fit comfortably within the local context. The local vernacular of mostly red brick houses gives precedent for the design of the new dwellings. The proposed stone window surrounds add to the unique character of the proposed development but still remain in keeping with the local area.

The two houses have very similar massing although they have been designed to have individual elevations. The ground floor plans comprise of a lounge and study area to the front, a cloak room, W/C and utility towards the centre of the house. The rear of each property has a large open plan kitchen, dining and snug area with large doors and windows to maximise the views and light into the garden space.

There is a large double height window onto the stairwell leading up to the first floor. Four ensuite bedrooms including the master suite with dressing room occupy the first floor and another large bedroom with ensuite and dressing room occupies each roof space.

The houses have been designed to a high quality to sit comfortably in the existing street scene as a welcome addition to the area.

New planting will enhance the streetscape and flourish over time to help to integrate the properties further into their new setting.
