Operations and Maintenance Base, Harwich International Port

Galloper Offshore Wind Farm is a 353MW wind farm being constructed by energy company, innogy, approximately 30km east of Harwich, Essex. Following on from our involvement with the Gwynt Y Môr Wind Farm Control Building at Mostyn Docks, we were asked to prepare a design for a new Operations and Maintenance Base located within Harwich International Port, to provide an on-shore base for the running of the wind farm when complete and operational in 2019.

The new two storey building will accommodate up to 60 staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wind farm, a large warehouse space providing storage space for spare parts, office facilities including a gym. The development also includes external storage areas, parking areas and a new floating berthing facility for Crew Transfer Vessels.
