Development Overview

Ainsley Gommon has worked with Magenta Living on several completed schemes, but initially we delivered some of the first sustainable housing on Wirral with Magenta.

At the official opening of the new houses at Juliet Avenue in Bebington Ben Chapman MP said, “I am proud to open such a fantastic, environmentally friendly and high quality development on the Wirral”.

The first phase of new houses on Home Farm Road in Woodchurch was constructed at the same time. Both sites had previously been occupied with residential flats and also commercial units at Home Farm, but had more recently been cleared of their former buildings.

The new houses, on both sites, were built to the highest energy efficiency standards on Wirral at the time, meeting Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, and incorporated solar thermal heating and rain water harvesting. The designs were also designed to achieve Housing Quality Indicators, Lifetime Homes, Secured by Design and Building for Life. The schemes maintain the character and scale of their adjoining neighbourhoods, and aim to improve regeneration within the immediate areas as well as meet an identified local housing need.

A second phase of new housing was constructed at Home Farm Road, linking in with the initial layout and following the design and pattern of materials used in phase one.

Associated landscaping for the schemes included trees and shrubs selected from native species, to enhance the streetscape and provide attractive garden spaces.
